Providing Quality Acupuncture to Santa Rosa and Sonoma County

As you may already know, acupuncture is a gentle treatment that consists of inserting tiny, mostly painless needles in strategic locations – based on the understanding of the human body from a traditional East Asian medicine perspective, developed by physicians over thousands of years.

Acupuncture has many well-documented, observable effects on the body, including increasing circulation, reducing inflammation, releasing endorphins, influencing brain chemistry, and manipulating the fascia (connective tissue).

But how does this actually make you feel?

Generally, patients report feeling more relaxed and balanced, and a reduction in pain or discomfort. And, although every type of medicine includes some risk of side effects, patients rarely complain of side effects beyond occasional bruising at the site of the needles.

We proudly serve Sonoma County including Santa Rosa, Sebastopol, Rohnert Park, Windsor, Forestville, Petaluma, Calistoga, Sonoma and St. Helena.

It’s also important to understand that when you come in for an acupuncture treatment, you get so much more than just needles! Your acupuncture appointments with Flourish include (depending on your needs) a personalized wellness plan, lifestyle & nutritional recommendations, herbal medicine & supplement recommendations, cupping, bodywork, and / or gua sha – and we can’t overstate the value of ongoing support from a dedicated provider who knows you and your case inside and out!

What Does Acupuncture Treat?

This is such a frequent question, of course. In reality, traditional Chinese / East Asian medicine (made up of acupuncture, herbs, lifestyle & nutritional changes, and specific bodywork) is a whole system of medicine, so in many ways the answer is… “everything!”, although there are certainly issues that we see and treat with more success than others.
