Suzanne Alvino Rosen

Licensed Acupuncturist, Ayurvedic Practitioner

Suzanne Alvino Rosen

Dr. Suzanne Alvino Rosen is a licensed acupuncturist and board-certified Ayurvedic practitioner who brings a multidimensional approach to whole-person healthcare. Her background in ecology and animism lends a dynamic perspective to her clinical practice, which weaves together ancient and modern aspects of medicine to create tailored treatments for every patient. Following several years in the fields of conservation ecology and clinical herbalism, she traveled through Ecuador and Peru studying botanical medicine and trained with Dr. Vasant Lad at the Ayurvedic Institute. She then earned her master’s and doctoral degrees in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University after discovering the profound synergy between acupuncture and Ayurveda through personal experience.

By combining Ayurveda, modern biomedical perspectives, and traditional East Asian modalities such as acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, tui na massage, and moxibustion, Suzanne offers treatments that create an immediate shift in the physical/mental/spiritual experience and also empower patients to live their daily lives with increased self-understanding, compassion, and wisdom of choice.

This work is an invitation into a deeper relationship with the rhythms of nature and one’s own inner wisdom & healing capacity. It is simultaneously practical & profound and in addition to the hands-on treatments received in the clinic, recommendations may include herbal medicine, dietary & lifestyle practices, supplements, breathwork (pranayama), yoga, ritual, daily routine, aromatherapy and other forms of sensory engagement.

While Suzanne is particularly passionate about supporting people with mental health and autoimmune conditions, she also treats a wide variety of chronic and acute illnesses & injuries with a focus on pain management, digestion, and reproductive health.

When she’s not in the clinic, Suzanne enjoys hiking, dancing, traveling, medicine-making, singing, ceremony, and quality time with her loved ones. She is enamored with honeybees, native pollinators, plants, fungi, and animals of all kinds. Through her many paths in life, both chosen and unexpected, Suzanne seeks always to find poetry and purpose and to connect with the sacredness that is so often hidden in plain sight.
